DT Swiss's carbon EXC 1550 wheels raised everyone's eyebrows when they showed up at Pinkbike HQ. At 1550 grams and with a 29 mm wide carbon rim, white bladed spokes, and built around DT's proven hubs, it really doesn't get much more deluxe than this. There are lots of wheels to choose from that come in at the EXC's weight, but nearly none of those are intended to be put through the same hardships that these super hoops are designed to handle. So how does DT Swiss do it?
